End Blasphemy Laws
You can be sentenced to death for critiquing a religion in 7 countries, worldwide. Around 70 countries, including at least 14 in Europe, curtail freedom of speech with archaic blasphemy laws. Several of the art works displayed here have been the subject of blasphemy charges and prosecutions.
To bring light to this situation, I curated a blasphemic altar, and made the stained glass window artwork custom made for the space. Several of the works displayed on the altar and in this room have been the subject of blasphemy charges and prosecutions.

Witches, Midwives & Women Healers
Inspired by the book Witches, Midwives, & Women Healers, I made a stained glass style artwork, as an offering to the altar.

On the corruption of the medical establishment and its role in demonizing women healers: A tribute to the witches burned; the women murdered.
Celebrate the midwife (left) for helping women gain reproductive agency. Featuring latin names of plants used as medicine for contraception, abortion, childbirth and to alleviate menstruation and menopause.
Celebrate the indigenous witch (right) for protecting the sacred forests, and who in sharing her knowledge of plant medicine, made it accessible to aid the poor and vulnerable. Her insight and practice forged the base of 3/4th of the modern pharmacopoeia’s plant-based remedies. Featuring latin names of common medicinal plants still used today.
